Whats on

BalletWorks (formerly The Gala) started life in 2014 and was created by Robert Robinson with two objectives in mind. Firstly to generate funds for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, a charity that Robert's family owe a great debt of gratitude to, but secondly to bring its diverse repertoire, international cast and the most exciting developments in the world dance to local theatres such as Medina.

Through BalletWorks with its mixed repertoire of high calibre dance, we want to show some of the most talented dancers in Europe performing not only classical and modern, but diverse choreography that stretches the mind of the spectator.

The BalletWorks 2017 programme includes stunning world class dancers who have selflessly given their time for charity. Don't miss this opportunity to see performances by dancers that you can only usually see perform in major theatres or opera houses in Europe or around the world.

Over the past three seasons, The BalletWorks team has raised over £10,000 for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on the Isle of Wight.

We aim to use our skills in our art form to raise as much money as possible to help the Earl Mountbatten Hospice continue to use their skills and outstanding work to care for loved ones.

Robert Robinson was born on the Isle of Wight, England. At the age of six years he started his ballet training at the Gillian Cartwright School of Dance. In 2006 he went to the Elmhurst School of Dance and then the John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart in 2008. There he graduated in 2011.
In the season 2011/12 he became an apprentice with the Stuttgart Ballet, one season later he was taken into the Corps de ballet. In 2013/14 he was promoted to Demi Soloist. In 2015/16 he became Soloist.
In 2014 he founded BalletWorks (formerly The Gala) raising money for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
